A Shout Out!

October 1, 2012

Mindy Westover, now Mindy Mitchell, a previous Lorrie Kennedy Photography Fabulous Senior, has started a blog!  Go over and give her some blog love when you get the chance.

This is a shout out to a wonderful young woman.  Mindy is someone that any Mom would love to call her daughter, and boy did she get a catch of a husband!  Robby is spectacular.  They are so happy as a newly married couple.  And they are living in HAWAII.  How can you beat that?  I am jealous, waaaay jealous, but they deserve it.

Mindy was a senior model for me when I lived in Washington State, and as you can see below, she is gorgeous!  She was able to promote me that first year in a way no other model has done before.  Thanks tons Mindy!  Too bad we had to move!  I missed photographing her wedding, but hey, babies will come and I hope to be their first photographer!  Well, not right away of course, but soon enough.  :)

Love to you Mindy and best of wishes for you, your new hubbie and your new spectacular Sunshine & Happiness Blog!

So it has been about 6 months now and I am just getting around to posting Ethan’s Senior Session.  Yep, I am late, hehehehehe.  Better late than never right?  That’s what I am told anyway.  :)

OK, so I went to Virginia to do these Senior Pictures.  Lorrie Kennedy Photography will travel!  Excellent deals to be had if I like your area too!  :)   (Yes, that was a shameless plug for us).  Seriously though, Ethan’s mom, Allison, and I had this planned from the time that I actually lived in Elkton, VA.  Allison didn’t let me moving to Savannah, GA stop her from hiring me to do her son’s senior pictures.  While I was in Elkton doing Ethan’s senior pictures, I was able to talk her into a couple of family pictures too.  I just love the area, and being able to photograph them all in such a picturesque place was pretty awesome.  All they had to do was walk out their front door, and there we were.  Pretty awesome place huh?

Anyways…Ethan, what can I say about Ethan that these pics don’t say for him?  He LOVES, did I say LOOOOVVVES, music?  He plays awesome, he’s in a band and well, he’s been playing for a long time.  I was hoping to get to hear him play some, but he had prom that night, and well, that was of major importance.  He was such a friendly guy and really didn’t mind having his pics done.  I gave him a questionnaire to fill out about himself so I would have more to write here, but just about every answer he gave me had to do with music and guitars…so, I can say for sure…HE LOVES HIS GUITARS!!!!

I was able to get some pics of him and his little brother Seth, doing one of the things they love to do together.  Yep, airsoft!  The area they had created to play in was awesome!  Made me wish I was a teenager again.  I like to think I could have give them a run for their money.   These two are really close.  That’s not something you see a lot in families…brothers that actually get along.  The bond they share was great to photograph.

Seeing as Ethan is now just a few weeks away from graduation…congratulations Ethan!  You made it man (well almost)!  I expect you will though, actually, I have no doubt.  Hope you and all your friends and family enjoy these last few weeks of your high school years.  Go be something great, and don’t forget to send me a sound track when you cut the first one!  I am proud to have been your Destination Senior Photographer!

Senior Sessions don’t always go as planned, and that is exactly what happened with Chris.  Times like these can be known to try the patience of the senior (especially when he is a guy) and the patience of the photographer (especially when she is generally lacking any patience at all).  We managed to both meet in Savannah at the correct time and location, and what would you know…a Georgia thunderstorm was beginning.  Not only did Chris get to the right place, the right time, but he was also already dressed in his suit for his more ‘formal’ pose.  Quite handsome I must add!  So, we were able to get a few shots before the rain really began to fall.  I think I like them as good as the ones we took a few days later when it wasn’t raining.  Anyways…Chris was a trooper.  Granted, he did tell me he was all for the pictures because he knew there would be something in it for him from his Dad & Mom, but you know…whatever it takes to motivate senior guys to have awesome senior pics done, I am all for it!

When it started raining we decided to call it quits and reschedule for a later date, and at a more convenient location of our 80 acre portrait yard.   The day came and Chris totally rocked his Senior pics.  His choice of clothing reflected the fact that he will be going to UGA on a full Army ROTC Scholarship.  Definitely an accomplishment to be proud of!  Chris, you are one awesome young man.  I wish you the best in life and in your Army career.  Enjoy it and if you make it into combat, fight hard and stay safe.

Chris, here are a few of your images.  Hope you enjoy them!  It was a pleasure.

This was supposed to be Chris’s Sexy look.  I asked for that look and well…this is what I got.  Hilarious!  I love it.
